Disney World is often perceived to be only for kids but this is not so. Many travelers are realizing that Disney World can indeed be a great getaway for adults as well. Disney World can be a haven and romantic trip for couples too. The term "Disneymoon" may be unfamiliar and many may think a honeymoon at Disney may be ruined by children.
Surprisingly, there are a lot of romantic resorts as well as many areas in the theme parks which are quite suitable for a honeymooning couple.
There are several types of resorts to suit all individuals in the Disney World areas. For the most romantic options the Deluxe and the Moderate Category Resorts are the best. One of the best affordable and fun moderate resorts available is the Caribbean Beach Resort. This is spread out and has a lot of space making it seem less clustered compared to other resorts. For the optimum in seclusion request a room in the Trinidad South Village as this is in the far corner of the resort and is really peaceful. It is also only 5-7 minutes away from the main pool and food court areas. There are calm and peaceful beaches where you can lay in a hammock with your significant other and enjoy the wonderful weather and sun. There are also fabulous courtyards with lots of flora for your enjoyment and secluded seating areas tucked away to spend some quiet moments.
Some other romantic options are the Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Resorts that have great landscaping and the typical New Orleans appeal without all the fuss. There are also romantic carriage rides in the afternoon and though not free these are worthwhile for the experience and the memories that you will take away.
The romance is not limited to the resorts but there are many romantic spots at the parks as well. One of the best is the EPCOT center. The World Showcase is a great opportunity for all couples and there is nothing better than a mini world tour in the company of your loved one. With great restaurants and lots of hidden exploration areas for each country this is quite the adventure. The Food and Wine Festival in fall and the Flower and Garden Festival in spring are also two golden opportunities for couples.
The Magic Kingdom should not be overlooked as well. While it is kid oriented this park has many quiet gardens to enjoy the scenic views and also has the WISHES fireworks nightly. This is a spectacular fireworks display and you can curl up together on a bench and end a fun day in a very romantic manner.
Resort hopping is another activity you can engage in on your romantic getaway to Disney World. Here you can check out all the resort grounds. You are not sneaking into rooms but taking scenic walks and strolls. Take advantage of the transportation provided such as monorail, bus or boat by Disney and relax on the beach at another resort or even watch the Electric Water Pageant float by at the Grand Floridian. This is fun and relaxing but you can also scope out the resort you wish to visit the next time you take a trip.
Some other activities include buying the bride and groom mouse ears and reaping the special treatment benefits as you are sought out by cast members. Even get the free wedding/anniversary/honeymoon button at the Guest Services desk in your resort and wear this. Have romantic meals at table service restaurants and savor the company of just being together. Plan your trip back because once you see the magic and fun you can have you will want to visit often.
A trip to Disney World can indeed be the trip of the lifetime for most families and is considered among the top vacation destinations in the world; but it can also be very expensive.
